DJI Mic 2 unboxing - the perfect mic for creators?

The DJI Mic 2 is currently one of the most hyped microphones among content creators, and not without reason.

First Impression:

When you unpack the microphone, everything looks very high quality. The device comes with a bag that is well organised with inner pockets. Even the cardboard packaging has a minimalist design and looks modern. The bag is well made and the inner pockets ensure a neat appearance and easy storage of the microphone.

Tech specs:

Here are a few brief features that make the microphone so interesting and good:
- up to 6 hours battery life
- 250m transmission range
- only 70 minutes charging time
- intelligent noise cancellation

Built quality:

Although the microphone and receiver are made of plastic, the whole thing feels very well made. Nothing cracks when you touch it and all the edges are smooth. The buttons are easy to press, but with enough resistance to not feel cheap. The supplied cables are solid and the windscreen for the microphone is also solid.

First Soundcheck:

I immediately connected the microphone to my camera and took a few test shots. Both indoors and outdoors, I was amazed at how good the sound was! Without any post-processing, the sound was super clear, background noise was well suppressed and my voice was easy to hear. (The microphone was at chest height).

Every day use:

I bought the microphone so I wouldn't have to stress about a clip-on microphone or wired alternatives. It's super easy to plug in the microphone and get started. The receiver can be connected to the camera via an aux cable and a Lightning and USB-C adapter for the iPhone is also included. Even with the iPhone, the microphone is plug-and-play. Simply connect it via the adapter and you have great sound for your videos.

Result:

The DJI Mic 2 makes a great impression at first glance and I'm looking forward to using and testing it further! I can see why it is of interest to so many creatives and so far it has completely won me over. Creating content with good sound is now much easier and possible for everyone.
