Fujifilm X100V/X100VI Accessories Essentials

As with any camera, there are lots of accessories for the Fujifilm X100V cameras. Here are a few must-haves that have made my life with the camera even easier.

SD Cards:

This sounds trivial at first, but the advice to use an SD card relates more to the size of the card. It's better to buy a card with a little more storage space so that you don't end up in a situation where your memory card is full when you're out and about taking photos.

I recommend the memory cards from SanDisk. They have never let me down, have a fast read and write speed and the ‘Extreme’ version is good enough to store your 4K videos!

Mini Tripod:

For me, the X100V is the perfect companion for every day. That's why it's great if you're travelling light and don't need to carry a tripod around with you. However, if you find yourself in a situation where you need a tripod, like I did at the Rockefeller Center in New York, I can recommend a mini tripod. It fits easily into any camera bag and makes it easier for you to take shots where the camera simply has to stand still, as in this photo:

Weather Sealing Kit:

The X100V is almost completely weatherproof. I say almost, because the pancake lens is not completely weatherproof. The camera body is waterproof, but the lens has remained ‘open’. That's why Fujifilm has a solution: they offer a Weather Sealing Kit that you screw onto the lens ring. Then nothing stands in the way of cool photos even in bad weather!

Camera Strap:

As I don't want to hold my camera in my hand all day, I have attached a strap to the camera. Then you can simply hang it round your neck and have your hands free. P.S.: The strap successfully prevented an attempted theft in New York and kept my camera safe!

Batteries:

Again, sounds simple, but is often forgotten. Make sure you have a spare battery with you, if possible an original Fujifilm battery, so that you don't have to cancel a shooting session because you run out of juice.

Lens hood:

A lens hood not only prevents light refraction in the glass, it also gives your camera a cool look and protects the lens from knocks and scratches!
